More holiday blunder..
I found some fun little things at the thrift store, including this great vintage linen all hand embroidered! When I saw it I snatched it up so fast and looked around thinking someone was going to rip it out of my hands...a little to excited in my mind I suppose? I cant believe people give this stuff away! Thank goodness everyones tastes are different & we vintage lovers can still actually find great stuff out there!
Working on this oval wool circles tablemat, its almost finished & then I can decide to sell it or keep it? I just love the colors!
My favorite find is this old skating rink, with magnetic people! Loving the bottlebrush trees ,lamp posts ,and I cut them off in the picture but you can kind of see the cute little birch trees that are just made of striped paper & wire.

Must do:
***Make holiday craft "to do" list
*** Go through fridge & cupboards & make detail grocery list(hubbys coming home)
***Finish projects first that are already cut out
*** Clean out travel trailer & winterize
***Make Christmas shopping list & take inventory of already purchase stuff.
*** I would love to get in some reading time..
Im taking my son to the naturalopath today for his ADHD, and hoping to find some other way to control this without all these expensive meds. Wish me luck! Its going to be a huge challenge to convert him over & a really wild upturned household Im sure , yikes!

Those are awesome finds! Whenever I find something great I grab it fast and my heart starts beating hard! Isn't it crazy!
btw, good luck with the meds, my brother started taking them again in college, then got addicted (to Ritalin) so he had to quit altogether, he's still in culinary school now (he's 30)and doing great without any medication. Be careful with those meds!
My little boy would love that skating rink. Have you read A Mind At A Time? Great book about kids with issues like ADD. There is also a lot of research out there about diet and ADD/ADHD, if you have any interest in that sort of thing. (Disclaimer: I was a school teacher, so I read those things about diet, but have never had to put them into practice.)
I LOVE the circles. Making something with circles has been on my to-do list forever.
Wow - that will be quite a big task to take your guy off of his meds, but if I were you I'd feel the same way. I applaud your efforts and wish you an easy transition.
I feel the same way whenever I find something at the thrift store that was handmade and tossed away. I always feel a bit sad for whoever put so much love and time into their work, and then I feel happy that I found it and can give it a home again!
Oh i love the colours in that table thing too!! Now, you said they're wool circles. are they felted sweaters, or wool felt? it's great!!!

My to do list is almost the same as yours! Without the trailer part. :) I like your cirles mat! I would have a hard time parting with it if I made but I guess that would explain whyI have no Etsy store! LOL That is my 2007 resolution, to have stuff to put on Etsy!
I know just what you mean about finding the treasures when thrifting.... oh, be still my heart! lol All those wonderful things that really make our houses feel like home. I am proud of you for trying to help your son without using the meds. It seems a lot of people are just looking for the easy way, just throw a pill at the problem, without seeing if they can do something else first. Good luck with that and I will send up a few quiet prayers for you both!
Smiles, Karen
Visiting from "from the craft room..." You were lucky with the finds and I really liked the Garland tutorial...I must try the local flea market and see if anyone has turned in any good materials to be used. I am interested in the natureopath as I have a son with ADHD.
