Realistic Resolutions
Thank you guys so much for all your birthday wishes!! I cant wait to have his party this satuday. We are going to be invaded by "Thomas the Train"! So on that note that a party is coming, which requires a clean house(what for?- a party full of 2 year old running wild with food?)What am I thinking? Its time for some realistic New Years Resolutions. Or maybe I just have a mega itch to get things organized & under control, the house feels like its ready to explode! Or maybe I should just call it a simple "To Do List (the sooner the better)"
So for the to do's this year:
So for the to do's this year:
1. Make a quilt-like a REAL one. With tiny cut peices. Maybe need a class.
2. Get all of us passports .
3. Clean Fridge out completely-soon
4. Get taxes and books done & ready to go for April.
5. Open scary tupperware cupboard, and yes, organize it.
6. Get car & couches steam cleaned, doing it myself?
7. Learn how to properly use my Photoshop elements. I hear it does all this fun stuff, & Im dying to know how. It came with no book, can you believe it?
8. Get a gym membership ,with hubby.
9. Try making some baking powder, and other homeade ingredients like this ,to help with the budget.
Not to bad, as long as I stop thinking of more things to add on the list every 5 minutes.
I made some new bags for the shop. All are made with repurposed /vintage materials or linens.Oh, and i found this fun old clock, while out thrifting! Its so cute its all white plastic with a turquiose center & a red star, by GE.
So thats my week , I will let you know how the Thomas party turns out!

The Thomas party sounds like a cute theme. I'm sure all will enjoy it.
I like your resolutions list as each task is something that can actually be achieved. Making resolutions is something I've always avoided as I didn't think in terms of actual tasks (or steps to follow, if you will), but in terms of giant goals which ended up making me feel defeated before I even began. Your list is thought out and specific--so I think I'll try to make a list of intentions this year, too. Thank you for the inspiration.
I always enjoy stopping by your blog! It is inspiring and beautiful. :o)
Love
Sylvia
Passports are so expensive !! We had to get them for all of us about 5 years ago, as you can see I'm still not recovered by the price of them !!!
Oh and you'll never use that gym membership, who does ? Well that's a lie actually as granny and grandad use their most days, but they only go in the swimming pool part !
I'm confident your Thomas party will be a great hit ! Love Julia x
Love the clock. Really love the bags.
Thanks for the Make Your Own link--it is just what I need!
Hi Angie! Love the bags. And the idea of repurposing old fabrics for them. I found myself going down your list like "got it. got it. need it." lol! I did finally face the tupperware cabinet recently. Cracks me up how some issues are just universal. I have the Photoshop Elements book. Would be happy to send if you'd like. I too thought of getting a gym membership and then my inner voice piped up," For God's Sake Woman! HOW many times do you have to keep learning the SAME LESSON!!??" LOL. But that's just me ;-)
LOVE the clock.
Ambitious resolutions list Ang! Good luck with all that. Mine is simple "Simplify". I'm thinking there is an awful lot of work involved in simplifying--which actually defeats the whole purpose LOLOL!!
Your new bags are really cute!
Happy New Year my friend--and peace, love, comfort, and JOY!
Smiles, Karen
LOVE that clock!
What a find!
LOVE The clock... Super cool. I love the little red star in the middle... well, all of it, really. Congrats on a super find. XO
