Better

things are looking up...
Im so excited! We are getting a huge Micheals finally in our town & Im going to be working there!! I just had to share my new with all you guys! Im so pumped! Especially for 25% off!!

Yippee. I have no idea how Im going to go from A SAHM to a full time job, so please bear with me. Crafting might be slim for the next while. This is going to be a huge change to put my son in childcare, especially because he is partially deaf.

Im curious to know if you guys are mostly at home or if you go out of the home to work?

Ive been making some cute tea bag mini giftys for anyone purchasing from the shop until they run out. I had fun making these with the orgami paper my Japanese student brought back from Japan for me:)
What to see a sweet tutorial?
Im going to try to make a couple of these paper easter baskets for my kids, if your looking for a fun easter/spring crafty project! She has made a great tutorial, thank you Laura!
Have a great week girlies~

SAHM, I work a few hours a week out of the house, mostly at night, and I have a phone job from home that pays really well and is very flexible. I still always put my girls first, and it works for us. You will be fine with the new gig...your son too. It is nice to have new surroundings once in awhile, especially when we have so much snow and are stuck in the house so much!

I work full time as does my husband. I work mornings and he works nights so our daughter doesnt have to be in daycare. It is a tough schedule but it works for our family. Have fun! and enjoy the discount *smile*

Congratulations on the new job! I started working again (after 10 years at home with the girls) back in the fall. I'm the House Manager at a local theater, I work Thursday, Friday, Saturday nights and Sunday days. Plays usually run three weekends on, one weekend off. So far it's working fine, Brian stays home with the girls while I work. And the chance to get out and talk to adults is wonderful, especially when I'm getting paid to do it!

Congrats Angie on your new job and good luck on this new journey in your life. I have always worked, I pretty much have always been the major bread winner in my family--and still am now that I'm a single parent.

It's hard to juggle everything, but somehow it all works out and everyone adapts, even grows with every situation they are put in. I'm sure your son will do fine in daycare--no worries!!

You'll have fun working. May not get quite so much blogging and crafting done...not at first anyway, but it'll all work out the way it's supposed to :-) LOVE the little teabag thingys you made. Sweet!

Yeah Ang!! How exciting!! That is a biggie to leave your little guy for several hours a day--but it should be good for both of you :o) I have been a SAHM for years now--so I'm of no help to you! LOL I'm sure you will manage it all (we always do!)
Have fun! Congratulations!

I work part time as a childminder and really enjoy being at home with my girl. My husband works at home too so it's a rather full house!

Angie, good luck 2 u at your new job. I work p/t (29 hours/wk) out of my home and then IN the home, with the kids, as well as doing medical transcription at home. I like getting out everyday. It's rewarding, knowing I have my own thing going. Off to peek at the easter baskets! hugs! NIKI

Congrats on the job! But be warned, I had a job at a craft store last year. I bought sooooo many craft supplies (and enjoyed it immensely) but there was no time for making anything and that was hard!

Hi there
I love your blog
Congrats on your new job. I'm a SAHM who works weekends so I'm a bit of a hybrid I guess !! Anyway I think I've got the best of both worlds. Love your snow pictures.

Congratulations on your new job Angie! I don't know Michaels, but it sounds exiting! I've a parttime job, working 24 hours a week. so plenty of time left for crafts!

I'm so excited for you! You'll always know what's new in crafting. I have to admit that I would not be able to survive working in a craft, fabric, or book store--I'd end up having to pay them for the privilege of working there as my paycheck would be gone immediately.

Good luck with your new job! It sounds like you'll have a blast there. I love Michael's - I spend way too much money and time at Michael's.

Angie,
I went back to work last August. The first time in 13 years. Both of my kids are high school and I'm only working part-time so I can be home in the afternoon. It's worked out well but the crafting time has really been reduced! I'd love to be working at Michael's!!! Maybe I should go apply & change jobs. (Although I probably wouldn't bring home much of my paycheck even with a 25% discount!)

Wow, Angie. What a great place to work. And what a fantastic discount. I work at home and when the kids are in school I work full time. The hardest thing is balancing the cleaning of the house. I really enjoy the work though and I'm sure you will too.

Hi Angie, Congrats on your new job! I applied to work at Michaels on my 16th Birthday & I worked there for 6 years. It was wonderful. I was able to be at many different positions like Cahier/Zoner, Front End Supervisor, Book keeper, Lead Sales Associate, & my Favorite Event Coordinator. I was having my 3 kids throughout this whole time so I was pregnant half the time I worked there, but never had to put the kids in daycare b/c we wouldn't have had any money after paying the babysitter. Some quick tips though. You might not be bringing home much income. You will have to make lists of things you want to buy. Also it is a better deal to use your 40% on everything as the customers do. In my time working there I almost never used the 25%discount. I hope you love working there as much as I did! Good luck. Let us know how it goes.
